Conveyors

KMI custom designs, configures and installs conveyors for your plant’s application and line layout. They feature required speeds, efficient and reliable motors and minimal downtime. Continuous conveyor speeds ranging from 3 to 60+ fpm are common, as well batch-type indexing systems for very large parts and/or low production volume parts. KMI has experience designing the following types of systems:
Enclosed Track Systems
This type of conveyor is used in conveying light weight parts up to 125 lbs. These systems are very flexible in design and are easy to maintain. The 8” pitch and tight radius turns easily allow small parts to be hung very close, increasing throughput.
Overhead I-Beam
This type of conveyor is very common for most industrial material handling operations. The simple and rugged design makes this a very popular choice.
Chain On Edge
This conveyor is typically used to transport one part at a time. In this design, the chain is located below the part. The part is held up by tooling supported off of the chain. This type of conveyor is ideal for small parts which require rotattion while being washed or painted. Some of the typical parts processed on this conveyer are car rims, burner caps and automotive oil filters.
